    Role Overview and Responsibilities

    Role Purpose

    • Responsible for administering the company quality program in accordance with customer and company requirements.
    • Drive site quality improvement through standard work, auditing, and corrective and preventive actions
    • Ensure Business Processes meet all Quality System and Regulatory requirements and Business Unit remains in good standing
    • Lead the internal quality functional strategy development including organizational structure and competency development
    • Embed a Continuous Improvement culture through SOF, Lean and Six Sigma tools and training

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Management of Quality and CI organizations including auditing, receiving inspection, & calibration functions
    • Manages and updates Torotel’s Quality Processes and internal/external certifications
    • Manages AS/ISO/customer audits/visits, both internal and external. Performs sales order reviews for quality requirements
    • Role Model and establish the use of x matrix, strategy deployment, A-3’s, project charters, and tactical implementation plans to drive improvement
    • Key customer interface for supplier quality, product qualifications, & customer visits
    • Assembles MRBs in order to disposition customer returns, as needed
    • Collaborates with Purchasing to review, audit, and issue Corrective Actions through SC
    • Manages customer quality requirements through Purchase Order (PO) notes
    • Performs/manages first article / PPAP inspections and manage the first article process Performs employee new hire orientation training
    • Performs new hire on the job training and skills certification
    • Provides lean/6 sigma training

    Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

    • Decision Making/Problem Solving – able to make decisions in complex/ambiguous situations and with incomplete data
    • Ability to build excellent customer and internal relationships
    • Demonstrated Business Acumen - understands customer and market dynamics, market environment and drivers
    • Strong communication skills including collaborating, negotiating, persuading, public speaking, and listening
    • Ability to work effectively in a team but also self-motivator, capable of working remotely with little managerial guidance
    • Proven ability to drive programs and ambitious agendas forward, with the involvement of relevant parties
    • Excellent understanding of RCCA, 8D, LEAN and other quality improvement tools

     

    Qualifications and Experience

    • BS in Engineering, Business Administration or related field
    • Six Sigma Black Belt/ Lean experience with a demonstrated track record of successful implementation of projects
    • Leading change in a regulated industry
    • Solid understanding of AS,QS, and regulatory standards
