Quality Improvement Director - Healthcare leads and directs process and overall quality improvement activities that produce better patient care and more efficient operations. Develops programs to review and evaluate patient care and outcomes.     Hours: 36 hours per week; Monday - Thursday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Fridays 9:00 am -1:00 pm.

    Pay Rate: $40.06 to $42.74 per hour, depending on experience

    Licensure:Licensed OR License Eligible Psychologist, Social Worker, Professional Clinical Counselor, or Marriage and Family Therapist.

      • If License Eligible: must be done with collection of hours and in process of preparing/taking exams for licensure. Expectation is that the individual will become licensed within a reasonable period of time.


    Program Overview:

    Located at our Central office in the Mission Bay area, we provide management support services for all of the mental health programs of Community Research Foundation and PERT, Inc. Our Central Office consists of Administration, Human Resources, Accounting, Information Technology, Real Estate and Facilities, Quality Improvement, and Research & Development.

    The Quality Improvement (QI) team assists the Executive Team with oversight and analysis of the services provided at CRF programs and promotes continuous quality improvement activities. The QI team responds to and tracks incidents, complaints, and various reporting elements. The QI team also assists with the development and implementation of CRF policies and procedures, process improvements, and outcome measurement. A high level of confidentiality and discretion is required.

    Typical Duties of theQI Specialist

    • Provide consultation to programs regarding urgent and emergent clinical situations, safety issues, criteria for incident and other mandated reporting, documentation of incident reports and other County/CCL/regulatory requirements.
    • Review, edit and provide feedback regarding CRF, County, San Diego Regional Center and CCL incident reports for CRF programs.
    • Track and monitor Reporting Elements and Incident Reporting.
    • Review of records for and participation in the Critical Incident Review Committee (CIRC) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) meetings
    • Continuous monitoring of adherence to CCL, County, State, Federal and other regulatory standards.
    • Perform other QI duties as assigned by the supervisor.

    Qualifications/Skills Requirement

    • Minimum 2 years of experience working with individuals who have a serious mental illness.
    • Strong writing skills including attention to detail and editing. Experience writing CRF or County Serious Incident reports is preferred.
    • Experience providing clinical consultation and feedback is preferred.
    • Ability to respond to communicate and consult effectively with program management.
    • Knowledge of CRF and County protocols, and legal and ethical requirements.
    • Experience with and knowledge of the Uniform Clinical Records Manual and documentation requirements and standards.
    • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, most importantly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
