Quality Generalist Manager develops and administers policies and procedures for evaluating and improving the quality of products, materials, components and/or manufacturing processes. Makes recommendations to ensure production runs meet established quality standards and predicted yields. Being a Quality Generalist Manager ensures employees follow established procedures and complete quality assurance work within time and budgetary constraints. May be responsible for ensuring products meet international quality standards such as ISO 9001. Additionally, Quality Generalist Manager works across a variety of quality assurance disciplines. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Quality Generalist Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Quality Generalist Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, print or schedule form.
· Keep a clean and efficient work environment within ISO 9001 and 5S guidelines.
· Participate in creating all Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s) assuring all critical dimensions are met by evaluating measurement techniques and sample frequency based on statistical analysis.
· Take lead on all PPAP’s. Create balloon drawings and evaluate capability to meet all required dimensions using statistical procedures. Complete all documentation required by customer.
· Log and follow up on all NCR’s. Assure adequate action is taken to prevent recurrence.
· Become lead on all Corrective Actions, including meetings with employees using 5 Why and Fishbone analysis to arrive at root cause and assure effectiveness of changes.
· Create yield reports and other quality KPI’s and prepare for presentation at monthly meetings.
· Monitor and evaluate vendor quality and communicate or visit as required to maintain quality.
