Quality Control Supervisor manages and implements a company’s quality control systems to ensure proper execution of products and customer satisfaction every time. From leading a team of quality control technicians to implementing best practices throughout the production process, the Quality Control Supervisor is the gatekeeper between products being manufactured and the end users. People in this role are committed to ensuring a product is executed flawlessly whenever possible.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· The Quality Control Supervisor oversees a team of quality control technicians, who are considered the “front line” staff. As the manager of these technicians, the Quality Supervisor must communicate expectations clearly and ensure their staff is appropriately trained on the latest product standards.
· Inspection of a variety of parts from manufacturing including components, processes and comparing against standards.
· Maintain and effectively apply knowledge of statistical process control concepts such as variation, control charts, and process capability.
· Work closely with Quality Assurance, Engineering, and manufacturing staff to ensure quality protocols are followed and documentation is currently maintained. In addition, implement any new changes or adaptations based on a quality review.
· Present completed parts to customer source inspectors to verify dimensions and requirements for FAI and production lots as required.
· Determine inspection methods to meet customer requirements including GD&T.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Quality Supervisor pays strong attention to detail and determines solutions quickly. The Quality Supervisor requires a minimum of five years of experience in quality control, as well as the following skills:
· Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles and methods.
· Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001
· Root cause analysis and corrective action methods
· Use of inspection tools and coordinate measurement machines (CMM).
· Knowledge of CMM programs and methods
· Determine best inspection tools and methods to efficiently inspect parts to meet customer requirements.
· Knowledge in statistical process concepts such as variation, stability, control charts, and process capability.
