D & S Machine Service, Inc. is a family-owned small business with an ASME Section VIII Div 1 equipment division that builds pressure parts for the oil and gas industry. D & S Machine provides fabrication and welding services to ASME standards for the highest quality fabrication or repair of pressure vessels, as well as non-code items or parts.
The Role:
As ASME Quality Control Manager, you will be responsible for evaluating product and workmanship requirements and reviewing drawing specifications to ensure code compliance of our metal fabricated products. You should have experience with ASME welding and be capable of maintaining our ASME quality program. You will spearhead the implementation of an existing ASME quality system to ensure full compliance of the ASME code is met.
Each vessel or part we build will have its own data package, you will ensure that each particular set of requirements is met during product fabrication from start to finish and is documented in the data book.
Responsibilities:
· Monitor ASME code requirements to verify compliance with company, customer, and code specifications at all times.
· Maintain day-to-day items such as current code books, eye exams, continuity records, third party NDE qualifications, light records, etc.
· Perform material receipt inspections and labeling/marking as required.
· Inspect welded assemblies at designated hold points in the manufacturing process.
· Maintain compliance with ASME weld procedures, material traceability and all other ASME documentation requirements including shop traveler generation, weld maps, MTR’s, NDE, hydro test reports, and data reports.
· Schedule and support AI involvement throughout the manufacturing process.
· Maintain all ASME quality records for the company.
· Apply for renewal of stamps 6 months prior to expiration date.
· Participate in tri-annual review audits for ASME stamp certifications.
· Prepare and maintain various ASME QC records for fabricated parts.
· Maintain ASME documentation for WPS, PQR, filler metals, welder qualification testing, and continuity records.
· Respond to company non-conformances.
· Maintain all necessary equipment calibrations, including pressure gauges, chart recorders, welding machines, gas mixer, measuring equipment, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Background in manufacturing and welding of carbon steel. Past ASME experience is desired.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
· Knowledge of ASME VIII code is preferred.
· Experience working with quality systems, programs, audits, and procedures.
· Knowledge of ASME inspection processes - incoming materials inspections, marking requirements, and in-process inspections.
· Ability to verify completeness and accuracy of the information recorded for each part.
· Ability to work, schedule, and interact with authorized inspectors during ASME inspections and present completed data book for their review, sign-off, etc.
