Precipart, located in Farmingdale, NY, is looking to hire a detail-oriented Quality Control Manager to lead our quality efforts and take our standards to new heights. As a Quality Control Manager, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing quality control processes, conducting inspections, and leading cross-functional teams to drive excellence in every aspect of production. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Cross training staff for proper use of quality equipment and practices
- Establish protocols for quality control while implementing Quality Policy and Quality System Requirements
- Ensure customer requirements are adhered to including quality data, forms, etc.; analyze product specifications to determine present standards; establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
- Identify and implement tools and equipment to optimize inspection for productivity and reliability of results that include:
- Regular interaction with Design Engineering, Project Engineering, and Operational Excellence for positive implementation and reviews
- Recommendations for year-end capital investment review
- Monitor accuracy and maintenance of testing and measurement equipment and coordinate with QA for calibration, as needed
- Coordinate objectives with Supervisors of Manufacturing Operations to maximize product reliability and minimize cost
- Support Quality Manufacturing Engineering staff as needed to maintain manufacturing flow
- Serve as back-up for the Material Review Board
- Able to perform all Inspector functions, including:
- Perform first piece, first article, in-process, and final inspection
- Examine parts, assemblies, and materials for defects in workmanship; approve or reject parts
- Using precision measuring instruments and devices, inspect and measure parts, assemblies, and materials for conformance to specifications and standards
- Read blueprints, data, manuals, etc. to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, or measuring instruments required
- Use SPC techniques as necessary or as specified
- Recommend modifications to quality standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of the equipment capability
- Monitor and maintenance of PPAP components and all specific customer flow down quality requirements
- Responsible for conforming with the company’s quality management system requirements, as well as contributing to its overall effectiveness, and the ultimate goals of customer satisfaction, product compliance and ethical practices/behavior.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Personnel needs identification, hiring and termination recommendations, leadership, coaching/training, performance management, task assignment, policy dissemination, disciplinary action/documentation to personnel files, job description updates, etc.
- Establish department goals, plan, and achieve department activities & objectives, analyze variances-initiate corrective actions, problem resolution, propose/support/implement new & improved approaches/methods, etc.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION
- 15 years’ experience in quality inspection in a similar manufacturing setting
- 10 years’ experience in a leadership role
- In depth knowledge of mechanical inspection techniques, methodologies, and tools and equipment
- Experience in ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations such as ISO standards
- Supervisory experience that provided clear direction, goals, and delegation to team members.
- Motivated team members to keep them engaged and focused on their goals
- Fostered collaboration to enhance teamwork and productivity of team members
- Promoted accountability to ensure team members took responsibility for their actions and contributed to the overall success of the team
- Excellent attention to detail, problem solving, conflict resolution, organization, and decision-making skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
PAY RANGE: $120,000 to $130,000 a year
