Job Title: Quality Inspector
Established in 1987, Triad Metals International is a privately held, independent company that has grown to become one of the premier distributors of structural steel, tubing, piling, and plate products. We are looking to hire a Quality Inspector to join our team in Petersburg, Virginia!
Successful Candidates will be expected to:- Inspect and approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
- Inspect in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
- Approve finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
- Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database.
- Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements, and call for repairs.
- Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and comply with legal regulations.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
- Accomplish quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Qualifications/Required Experience:- High school diploma
- Experience with quality control techniques such as Six Sigma
- Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, computers, calipers, and other measuring instruments
- One to two years’ quality inspector experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read blueprints
- Basic Computer and Math Skills are required
