JOB SUMMARY:
The QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR I performs routine quality checks, tests, gauging, and inspections of incoming materials, work in process, finished goods, and returned goods.
Pay: $16.00 per hour
Shift: 9:00 AM - Close
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Perform routine quality inspections on incoming materials, kit pulls, work in process, and finished goods, comparing inspection results with technical design requirements, samples, templates, drawings, and company quality standards. Record inspection results on inspection form. Report results to Lead QC Inspector.
2. Visually inspect raw materials and production items for obvious defects.
3. Perform detailed visual inspection when necessary to determine quality of product where limits are not clearly defined. Remove defective products and marks as “rejected”. Isolate rejects for MRB disposition.
4. Notify the Lead QC Inspector when inspection data exceeds acceptable limits or when major incidents of poor quality are noted.
5. Record results on inspection forms. Assist Lead QC Inspector in preparing charts and reports on number of defects found.
6. Recommend disposition of questionable product to Lead QC Inspector.
7. Ability to read, write and understand English language.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. May act as Quality Control department lead; maintain quality records for final inspections, In-Process inspections, and in-coming inspections and operate Material Review Board (MRB) cage.
2. Familiar with blood borne pathogens protection procedures (OJT).
3. Perform other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
VISUAL REQUIREMENTS:
Required to have a close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to eyes.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
· Subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
· Subject to both environmental conditions: activities occur inside and outside.
· Subject to atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: Fumes, odor, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilations.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Ability to work rotating shifts, on continuous five-day work cycles.
2. Dexterity and preciseness required to operate gauges and testing equipment.
3. High school or technical school education, with mathematics emphasis.
4. Ability to perform considerable mental and visual effort.
