Our Dog & Cat business is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control Analyst to join our team. The Quality Control Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring the consistent quality and compliance of our products or processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of quality assurance principles. This role involves conducting thorough inspections, implementing quality control procedures, identifying areas for improvement, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain and enhance product quality.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS:
- Perform comprehensive inspections of products, materials, or processes to identify defects, deviations, or non-conformities.
- Create and maintain department analysis with reports, charts, graphs, and presentations.
- Drive operation improvements through data, accountability, and leadership.
- Helps investigate plant nonconforming product incidents and consumer concerns, conducting root cause analysis and leading corrective action efforts.
- Aiding production staff where necessary regarding Quality Control procedures.
- Collect and examine statistical information throughout our process flow.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company-specific quality guidelines.
- Verifies QMS documentation for accuracy and follows up with process owners on nonconformances.
- Advise, carry out, and keep track of preventative and corrective measures to guarantee that quality assurance criteria are met.
- Work closely with production, engineering, research and development, and other relevant teams to address quality-related challenges and contribute to the successful resolution of issues. Assist with data entry and other requests from the Quality Department.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance product quality, efficiency, and overall performance.
- Assist in training employees on quality control procedures, standards, and best practices.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES:
- 5 years work experience in an FDA/ USDA food manufacturing environment
- Bachelor’s degree in the science field is a plus
- Industry knowledge of quality management and food safety systems
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and technical writing skills
- HACCP trained, FSMA-PCQI certified a plus
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and office equipment such as photocopier and scanner
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask and follow direction
- Dependable with a respect to confidentiality and policy
