    SUMMARY Under general supervision from the Quality Assurance Manager, provide professional and efficient clerical support to develop, coordinate, and monitor FSMA HACCP, Glass & Brittle Plastic and production process parameters to ensure continuous safe confectionery and supplement products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through department members.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Review quality-related documents, including but limited to: protocols; calibration certificates; monitoring records; CCP & CQP logs.
    • Tracking deviations, change controls (equipment and document) and complaints.
    • Issue and review of manufacturing batch records for compliance of manufacturing processes/steps, ensuring that all applicable documents, records and forms are complete and attached.
    • Maintenance of controlled documents and procedures pertinent to the Food Safety & Quality Management System (FSQMS), Quality Assurance (QA) activities and functions, forms, company records, external standards, and other procedures if deemed necessary.
    • Maintain the organizing, indexing, filing, storage and record keeping of the FSQMS in compliance with company policy and regulatory standards.
    • Capture and document current procedures.
    • Establish and maintain record retention timelines.
    • Handle records across various departments.
    • Retrieve documents in storage areas upon request.
    • Print and distribute documents as needed.
    • Assist in formal audits and conduct internal audits, including completion of audit reports.
    • Create templates for use by other personnel.
    • Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive documents.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE                                              

    • This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.  Associates or Bachelor’s degree in science or related field preferred.
    • 3 years previous work experience.  0-6 months as a Document Control Specialist.  Food manufacturing experience preferred. 
    • Knowledge of records management procedures and standards preferred.
    • Experience with and knowledge of FSMA, SQF Food Manufacturing and Quality Codes, and 21 CFR 111 requirements preferred.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret charts and graphs.

     

    REASONING ABILITY Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

     

    OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Intermediate proficiency with MS Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Sharepoint, Visio, Redzone, Database and ERP system experience preferred.

    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
