QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER
Position Summary: Manage the Quality Assurance Department and the quality system procedures and manual. Enforce company policies while working with all department managers to ensure a quality product is delivered on time to the customer. Help report on the effectiveness of the Quality Management System to upper management.
Essential Functions
- Direct supervision and evaluation of Quality Assurance Department personnel.
- Work with Human Resources on personnel and training issues.
- Participate in contract and contract revision reviews.
- Ensure compliance to all customer requirements prior to shipment of product.
- Interact with customers on questions of requirements and noncompliance matters.
- Review for approval Supplier selection by Purchasing Department.
- Review for approval Purchase Orders released to Suppliers.
- Audit the Supplier’s Quality Management System as required.
- Work with all department managers and inspectors to ensure inspections are carried out per the quality plan.
- Maintain Corrective and Preventive Action System.
- Report to upper management on the Corrective and Preventive Action System during scheduled management reviews of the Quality Management System.
- Work with Customer, Production Control Department and Project Engineer in scheduling and Supervising Customer and/or Government Source Inspections.
- Maintain calibration manual and system.
- Manage quality records system for the department.
- Shares top management responsibilities and attends management review of Quality Management System.
- Enforce Company policies, safety standards, and quality procedures.
- Responsibilities defined in Quality Manual and Quality System Procedures.
- Complies with established policy, safety standards, and quality procedures to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
Minimum Requirements
Training and Experience:
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Minimum ten years working in quality assurance field.
- Aerospace background preferred.
Physical Demands: The employee is required to:
- stand, walk, push, reach overhead, bend to the floor, and long periods of sitting
- exert up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
- lift up to 30 pounds occasionally
