QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER is responsible for the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure adherence to production quality standards.     The ideal candidate for the role will have:

    • Experience as a quality manager for releasing and validating hardware, system software, and embedded software
    • Knowledge of image sensors and imaging systems
    • Knowledge of computer vision and artificial intelligence technologies
    • Experience working with robotics and Robot Operations Systems

     

    Position Summary:

     

    The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager will lead the QA team and serve as a hardware and software test and QA engineer for development cycles, overseeing quality test plan creation, execution, and all related documentation. The position involves assisting in achieving system performance and functional safety objectives through qualification testing, validating Owl's hardware and software to meet market and customer needs, and supporting neural network testing for various uses, all while ensuring compliance with relevant standards.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • This role would be responsible for quality assurance of hardware, software, and systems.
    • Work with hardware, software, and systems testing. Hardware would include cameras, circuit boards, and chip level testing.
    • Function as both a technical leader and provide leadership to a small team.
    • Perform role as a hardware and software quality test engineer for sprints and releases.
    • Own required Product Lifecycle Management Process (PLMP) documents for quality, including developing QA test plans and platform test plans.
    • Work with automotive and industrial customers to understand their requirements.
    • Define and enforce best practices for the hardware and software teams to ensure that products meet defined verification and quality standards.
    • Support product or system level qualification testing at a Tier 1 or OEM partner to achieve required system performance and safety goals.
    • Validate Owl’s hardware and software platforms as required by customers to ensure that specifications are met.
    • Support various 3rd party and in-house testing of neural network use for customer specific use cases and training.
    • Ensure that all products are developed and tested to comply with identified standards.

    Required Qualifications and Competencies:

    • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
    • Legal authorization to work in the United States
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

     

    ADA Physical/Mental/Workplace Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
    • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times
    • Primary work environment is a professional corporate office
    • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
    • Valid NYS driver’s license (for in field testing)

     

    Compensation Range: $80k - $140k

    The salary range provided is our current best estimate for compensation in this role and is offered in good faith. Actual salaries may vary, and adjustments to this range may occur in the future. Employee placement within this salary range will be influenced by various factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, educational background, certifications, skills, seniority, performance, location, shift, travel demands, sales or revenue performance, organizational requirements, and adherence to prevailing minimum wage for the location.
