Summary

POSITION PURPOSE:

This position, within YTMM, is to ensure all company products meet consistent standards, consumer expectations, and demands.  The QA Managers role is also responsible for overall development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS). This position represents YTMM with various groups within the company’s manufacturing locations and corporate departments through oral and written communications.

Responsibilities

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure that the organization’s QMS conforms to customer, regulatory, and legal requirements (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, FMVSS, etc.)
• Conduct periodic reviews of the QMS (e.g., results of quality audits, corrective actions) and make recommendations for improvements as necessary
• Interpret and comply with Yokohama Standards (YS)
• Continuous interaction with Corporate Quality on tire quality incidents in the field
• Convey the status of quality and product safety to leadership and production on a continuous basis
• Ensure evaluation of, and reporting on, vendor quality systems
• Manage the monitoring, measurement, and review of internal processes, especially those that affect the quality of the organization’s products
• Lead a team of quality engineers, inspectors, auditors, analysts, and technicians.
• Keep up to date on standards, regulations/laws, issues, and news with respect to product (service) quality.

Education and Experience

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• 7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (rubber experience preferred)

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

 - HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA

   - AA DEGREE

  X - BACHELOR’S DEGREE – Minimum (Math, Applied Science, or Engineering)

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• Up to 4 months overseas training if necessary
