Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assist in the implementation, documentation, monitoring, and training of all aspects of food safety, quality, and employee safety programs and documentation
· Review procedures and proper documentation are being followed regarding the facility’s LOTO, CCPs, and Prerequisite programs such as pest control, sanitation, vendor qualifications, etc.
· Provide support in SQF, customer and regulatory audits for food safety, quality and employee safety
· Constantly review and improve current processes to increase efficiencies and improve results through continuous improvement for food safety, quality and employee safety
· Monitor and support programs such as environmental monitoring, foreign material, allergen control, GMP, internal audits with corrective action follow-up(s) with the appropriate department
· Collaborate with other facility departmental managers to implement corrective actions and enforcement of procedures for food safety, quality and employee safety
· Verify new ingredients & packaging vendors align with corporate and plant specific food safety and quality requirements
· Communicate new ingredients to the sites Kosher program and oversee the monthly plant inspections
· Report and manage all HOLD items regarding inventory along with overseeing the disposition
· Verify ATP/protein swab results for compliance and troubleshooting the unit
· Compile JDE information for the site’s traceability exercise
· Track sites incidents and near misses
· Provide leadership and process direction to direct reports on all shifts
· Schedule and approve timesheets for direct reports
· Issue purchase orders for supplies
· Maintain current OSHA Log
· Conduct New Hire Orientation training as assigned
· Adhere to all environmental, health and safety requirements and procedures
· Other tasks as assigned
Position Requirements
· Associate degree or related field; or at least three years of prior supervisory experience within the food manufacturing industry; Prior Food Safety, Quality Assurance and Employee Safety experience preferred
· HACCP Certified
· SQF Practitioner and/or PCQI preferred
· Flexible - Work varying shifts to ensure the proper operation of the department
· Demonstrated experience working with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors.
· Bi-Lingual (not required – preferred).
