Quality Assurance Engineering Manager manages inspections of raw materials, equipment, processes, and finished products.     • The Employee Benefits Specialist (EBS) for Southern Furniture Industries serves as the superuser of the company’s UKG Workforce Ready & PlanSource Benefits Administration systems. The primary role is to maintain accurate employee benefits records to ensure enrollment, changes, and terminations are reported to the provider and to the company payroll administrator in a timely manner. The EBS also assists employees with benefits enrollment, reconciles all insurance billing, maintains employee database files, and ensures compliance with required benefit notices.

    Duties/Responsibilities

    • Serve as primary contact for UKG Workforce Ready, PlanSource Benefits Administration, Inc. and all welfare plan vendors or third-party administrators.
    • Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration.
    • Evaluate internal processes and recommend changes to increase efficiencies.
    • Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees.
    • Coordinate daily benefits processing. Handle enrollments, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, death claims, 401k rollovers, QDROs, QMCSOs, distributions, loans, hardships and compliance testing.
    • Maintain employee group benefits database and ensure timely updates of employee payroll deduction records.
    • Gather employee data and reconcile monthly to prepare for payment of administrative fees for all group plans. Maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
    • Ensure distribution of required employee benefits notices.
    • Provide customer service support to internal and external customers. Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package.
    • Design and distribute materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment and summary plan descriptions. Provide training and support to group benefits associates, home office associates and the field staff.
    • Assist HR director in compiling census data and information for the renewal process of company welfare plans.
    • Complete annual EEO-1 reports.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    • Requirements

    Required Skills/Abilities

    • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products; experience with HRIS and benefits databases.
    • Project and team management/leadership skills and experience.
    • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates.
    • Effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
    • Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs.
    • Knowledge of benefits contract language.
    • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Medicare, OBRA, and Social Security and DOL requirements.
    • Excellent communication and organization skills.

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field, and three to five years of related benefits or employee benefits administration experience.
    • CEBS professional designation preferred.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
