Quality Assurance Engineer jobs in South Carolina

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Engineer (QE) to play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of Quality Control, Assurance, and reliability across their products and processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC), experience working in an ISO9001 environment (or similar quality system) and ASQ certification highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• 1. Process Improvement:

• 1. • Assess production process issues and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
     • Provide training to colleagues on quality standards, processes and procedures.
     • Utilize FMEA techniques to develop and improve processes. Acquire, validate, examine, and present essential measurement data for assessing adherence to specifications and validating process capability.

• 1. Quality Programs:

• 1. • Create and enforce KPIs to identify areas of improvement.
     • Supervise product testing to ensure procedural accuracy.
     • Assist in the development and implementation of quality programs to meet production standards and exceed customer requirements.
     • Perform internal quality audits to assess compliance within the QMS and help assist in external audits.
     • Collaborate with customers to understand their quality requirements.

• 1. Collaboration and Relationship Building:

• 1. • Build strong working relationships with customers and peers.
     • Work with cross-functional teams on root cause investigations for both internal and external opportunities.

• 1. System Compliance and Execution:

• 1. • Ensure complete execution of the Quality Management System (QMS).
     • Collaborate with teams to develop and implement best practice standardization.

• 1. Recommendations and Training:

• 1. • Recommend improvements to procedures and processes, contributing to the creation of quality practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
     • Ensure test methods are current and provide training to employees on proper testing procedures, root cause investigation tools, and processes.

• 1. Supplier Collaboration and Customer Feedback:

• 1. • Support sites in working with suppliers for raw material and certification compliance.
     • Analyze issues reported via customer feedback to ensure products consistently meet or exceed customer expectations.

Qualifications: 

• 1. • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Applied Science discipline
     • 2-5 years’ experience in the Quality Engineering/Assurance field
     • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) (PREFERRED)
     • Experience in ISO9001 environment preferred or knowledge of ISO9001.  Similar quality system experience such as AS9100, ISO13485 or IATF16949.
     • ASQ Certification (PREFERRED)
