Quality Assurance Engineer jobs in Livonia, MI

Witco is looking for a talented and experienced addition to our quality team!  The ideal candidate will have experience calibrating measuring equipment and the ability to perform manual layouts on high tolerance aerospace parts using all the standard quality inspection tools.  This position will be working on the floor and in the quality lab under the direction of the Quality Manager.  If you like a day that flies by, the challenge of finding new ways to check parts, assisting with problem solving tasks, and are not afraid of paperwork, then this is your next adventure!  

Responsibilities:

• Calibrate measuring equipment
• First piece and in process inspections
• Receiving inspections
• Final inspections
• Supplier Certification Review
• Floor audits
• Document non-conforming material
• Create gage sheets
• Tag non-conforming material
• Create inspection reports
• Review new blue prints from Engineering
• QMS Management Representative

Required skills:

• Read and interpret blue prints
• GD&T
• Expert use of measuring and test equipment
• Calibration of measuring equipment
• Surface plate layout
• Optical comparator
• Metrology

• APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC and Gage R&R
• Internal QMS audits

 Required experience:

• Aerospace  – MUST be able to perform calibrations, use all standard gaging and check tight tolerances. 
• A clear understanding of AS9100 / AS9102 and/or ISO9001:2008 Quality Management Systems and an awareness of ITAR Compliance is a plus.

Located near Yale, Michigan, Witco Inc. is a precision CNC Turning, Milling, and Gear Cutting company that services various global industries, including Aerospace, Medical, Defense, Metal Mining, Oil and Gas, and Outdoor Sporting Goods. We are a short run facility with typical build sizes ranging from 10-pieces to 1000-pieces.
