The Quality & Mission Assurance (Q&MA) team ensures that delivered products and/or services conform to contractual and Aerojet Rocketdyne requirements for product quality. They ensure adherence to and compliance with established Company quality policies, practice and government regulations by developing, administering and maintaining quality assurance systems, standards and activities. Specifically, this position provides Q&MA leadership and guidance for the Defense Business Unit to ensure continuity and standardization across sites.

20% - Provides quality leadership and strategic direction to multiple Defense sites, including the development of overall staffing plans and initiatives. Collaborate with peers within Q&MA, business units (BUs) and other Centers of Excellence (COEs) to assure alignment of plans and initiatives. Champion the development of a lean and effective quality management system supporting design, procurement, manufacturing and quality systems & processes, infrastructure and workforce that will meet the current and future needs of the Defense Business Unit.
20% - Participate in the development and execute the Quality and Mission Assurance strategic plan in support of the Company's long-term goals. Conceptualizes and drives quality system, process and tool improvements that cross business unit and site geographical boundaries. Implement risk based approaches to reduce quality oversight while improving product quality. Shares and leverages best practices across enterprise. Keeps abreast of industry trends, best practices and technologies and develops road-map for for improving quality and lowering costs.
20% - Monitor and manage organization financial performance and implement/take actions as required to meet goals. Identifies the need for capital investment to support business unit needs (including new technology) and develops business cases supporting timely acquisition.
20% - Creates standardized processes across business units; develops and monitors quality metrics and leading indicators and implements corrective and preventive actions to reduce cost of poor quality, eliminate escapes and ensure on-time delivery. Creates communication channels, methods and tools to align and inform leadership and customers, both internal and external, to ensure customer satisfaction. Collaborates with customer Quality counterparts to improve customer relationships, champion joint improvement initiatives, respond to customer concerns, and streamline requirements.
20% - Provides leadership and guidance on the use of the Aerojet Rocketdyne Business Operating System (ARBOS). Drive ARBOS use throughout the organization and resulting continuous quality improvement for the entire organization.
