Purchasing Supervisor supervises daily procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates pricing, monitors performance, and expedites to respond to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Supervisor collaborates with other functions to meet current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Supervisor performs auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Purchasing Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Purchasing Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. About the role: We are seeking a Purchasing Supervisor to support function for the farm by ensuring timely and accurate purchases of materials and supplies are performed with consideration to quality and pricing. This role is responsible for the development and maintaining proper reorder intervals for all Facility supplies and materials. Purchasing is a support function to the farm.

Work Schedule: Typically Monday-Friday
Type of Position: Full-Time
FLSA Status: Exempt
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:- Consolidate the buying community and streamline the purchasing process
- Maintain an adequate level of cross-training and coverage among subordinates for all purchasing
- Ensure that all team members are properly trained and accurately process JDE inventory
- Ensure that SDS sheets are received and furnished to gatekeeper
- Perform all procedures for purchasing month-end close and produce all related reports
- Receive material and supply requests from departments, review for proper authorization, obtain
- All purchasing to be done through the JDE PO system, with accurate account numbers, and
- Proactively assess proper levels of material and supplies - support cost effective on hand
- Receive real time inventory through DSI and create locations
- Oversee full process of cycle counts of Inventory items, identify, explain and correct
- Regular and predictable attendance
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Observe and practice safety and housekeeping procedures at all times
- Conduct and/or attend safety meetings
- Special projects as requested by Manager
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Direct Reports: Receivers, Packing Clerk
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Required:- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- 2-3 years purchasing experience
- 2-3 years managing employees
- 2-3 years warehousing experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
Desired:- Bachelor's Degree; Prefer emphasis in business courses
- Bilingual, English and Spanish is a plus
