Purchasing Supervisor supervises daily procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates pricing, monitors performance, and expedites to respond to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Supervisor collaborates with other functions to meet current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Supervisor performs auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Purchasing Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Purchasing Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. BASIC FUNCTIONS: Bids out and negotiates prices with suppliers for merchandise and equipment. Purchases consumables and non-consumables including office supplies, equipment, food and household items. Researches, compares and recommends purchases, based on appropriate bids.
MAJOR DUTIES:
· Completes bid sheet, forwards to vendors and processes responses.
· Prepares bids, processes disposition of requisition and forwards copies to requisitioner.
· Prepares all purchase orders based on requisition, bids and inventory.
· Secures payment authorization from authorized staff for invoices received for which no purchase order was issued for items such as bread and milk.
· Apprises the Purchasing Manager of unusual purchasing as compared with historical spending patterns.
· Prepares and submits accurate tracking log on usage of non-consumable items and conducts analysis of inventory stock level.
· Maintains inventory for office/janitorial supplies for all locations.
· Submits copies of purchase orders for equipment and furniture to the Purchasing Manager for inventory purposes.
· Reconciles incoming invoices against packing slips and purchase orders. Assembles payment documents (invoice, purchase orders and packing slips).
· Maintains current files of purchase orders, log of vendors' bids, and records of items purchased.
· Serves as back-up to Purchasing Manager during vacations and other absences.
· Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
SCHEDULE: M-F 9AM-5PM
SALARY: $45,000-$45,000 / yearly

Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
· Associate Degree plus 2 years experience in Purchasing or Business Management or 5 years experience in Purchasing or Certification in Purchasing Management/Purchasing Practitioner Accreditation. Excellent negotiating skills. Computer competent.
