Overview:
Mandalay Homes is seeking a Purchasing Agent to join our team in Prescott, AZ. The Purchasing Agent will work directly with the Purchasing Manager and other team members to ensure accurate system management and organized house releases. This is a full time in person position.
Job Summary:
● Responsible for assisting with all department purchasing activities, trade contractor relations and contract administration.
● Understand the buyer profiles serviced to ensure the right products are offered in the design studio.
● Manage contracts that were negotiated and agreed upon from the Purchasing Manager and Subcontractors.
● Obtaining new option pricing as needed from subcontractors
● Ensure house and option cost are accurate, complete and in the Homebuilder Software System.
● Assist in the accuracy of community specifications.
● Monitor and report (on a regular basis) contractor and material increases/decreases.
● Notify appropriate departments of plans and specification changes.
● Responsible for working with all operation teams to reduce variances.
● Organize and manage house releases from the back office software system to the construction software system
● Communicate with other departments on customer selections
● Track and manage the house release schedule
● Support the construction team by providing clear and accurate work orders
● Support the sales team by managing available options
● Responsible for permitting homes before release to construction
● Willing to perform other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
● High School Diploma or GED at the minimum
● Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Construction or other related fields is preferred
● 1 year of Residential Construction experience
● Familiarity with ECI Mark Systems is a plus
● Adequate with Google and Microsoft platforms
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills for high interaction with a variety of people inside and outside of the organization.
● Organizational and detail-oriented
● Mathematical aptitude with ability to perform calculations
● Computer literacy to work with estimating programs
● General understanding of residential construction plans
● Able to adapt and overcome frequent changes
