Purchasing Supervisor supervises daily procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates pricing, monitors performance, and expedites to respond to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Supervisor collaborates with other functions to meet current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Supervisor performs auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Purchasing Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Purchasing Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Brooks Range Supply is needing to find a professional and customer-focused Purchasing Agent for our operations on the North Slope in the Deadhorse Aviation Center (DAC). In this position, you will be responsible for researching and sourcing necessary parts and products, anticipating business needs, tracking inventory, and maintaining vendor relationships in support of our business.
The Purchasing Agent will procure supplies, equipment and services, reviewing requisition requests, prepare purchase orders and solicit bids for goods and services. The Purchasing Agent will also purchase goods and services according to Brooks Range Supply and organizational policies and procedures. This is a slope-based position and does require a Rotational Schedule commitment (2x2 or 3x3).
A day-to-day in this position will include researching goods and products, locating suppliers and soliciting services with purchase orders. Most interactions will be over-the-phone, but some in-person interactions should be expected. For all interactions the Purchasing Agent will be welcoming in a friendly and sincere manner, anticipating customer needs, and exceeding expectations to provide an exceptional experience from beginning to end.
