The ideal candidate can function in a fast-paced environment and will oversee all purchasing functions of the business.

Job Description

We are looking for a Purchasing Manager to oversee and direct the activities of the purchasing department including leadership of direct reports. The ideal candidate will take the initiative to ensure proper procedures are in place to optimize procurement results.

Summary of major responsibilities:

• Collaborate with other departments and upper management to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions
• Assess current material availability; reasonably predict future availability based on mark, delivery systems, and other variables
• Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment
• Draft, explain, and implement instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing and contract management
• Evaluate and approve conditions for issues and awarding bids
• Resolve grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers
• Maintain and/or implement purchasing and recordkeeping systems
• Act as the company’s representative in negotiations with suppliers
• Administer the departmental budget
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements and skills:

• At least 5 years experience in related field required
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and desire to be part of a busy office support team
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to effectively train others
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Thorough understanding of materials and supplies used in the company
• Proficient in Excel, Word, Windows, Outlook, Google, etc.
• QuickBooks (Preferred)
• Ability to type 40 words per minute

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
