Purchasing Manager manages procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Manager collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Implements processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Manager oversees auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Purchasing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Tucson Foods (Tucson Tamale) has been a staple in the Tucson community for 14 years and has been available nationally for 7 years. This year we are forecast to produce and sell over 11 million tamales. We are also expanding our product lines. We are a growing company with 2 manufacturing facilities in Tucson and we will also be working with selected co-packers around the country. This is a new role for Tucson Foods and will be located in Tucson AZ. At Tucson Foods we are a close knit group, fully support each other and believe in a good life work balance.
This position is part of our Operations and Production team and reports directly to the Director of Production. Benefits include 15 days PTO, medical, dental and vision plans. All you can eat tamales!
Salary range is $50 - $60K depending on experience.
