Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Set departmental standards, guidelines, and objectives, maintaining administrative processes such as budgeting and staffing. Ensure efficient operation and strategic planning in assigned areas.
Uphold the utmost confidentiality of privileged information, aligning with established procedures, company policy, and state regulations.
Monitor and meticulously track spending by category.
Review requisitions, engage with vendors, and skillfully purchase goods based on agreed-upon criteria, ensuring timely procurement at optimal price/value to meet departmental needs.
Foster effective communication and coordination with user departments, proactively addressing needs, resolving issues, and ensuring purchasing services align seamlessly with company objectives.
Scrutinize bids for major purchases, securing the most advantageous deals in terms of price, quantity, quality, service level, and delivery schedule.
Cultivate working relationships with existing and potential vendors, leveraging communication to develop optimal price and service agreements.
Regularly review inventory levels, placing orders to maintain par levels that precisely align with users’ specifications and requirements.
Work closely with vendors to swiftly resolve discrepancies, facilitate returns, and coordinate delivery schedules, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products meeting user department needs.
Ensure strict adherence to Internal Control Policies and Procedures, as well as regulatory, departmental, and company policies, all handled with the utmost ethical consideration.
Skillfully resolve problems within the position's scope of authority, recommending courses of action for issues beyond the scope to the position’s supervisor.
Keep the position supervisor informed of relevant activities, maintaining transparency and promoting efficient communication.
Review the work activities of subordinate employees, ensuring alignment with the standards established by management.
