Purchasing Manager manages procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Hands on manager able to effect change with multi-site manufacturing environment.
• Manage a small team of Supply Chain personnel.
• Review CWTent supply base for consolidation, quality, and cost savings opportunities.
• Provide leadership and innovative strategies for optimizing sourcing effectiveness
• Coordinate and work with Executive Team to support long term business strategic goals.
• Establish strong supplier relationships, effectively manage category supply base, perform advance negotiations, and oversee selection of key suppliers.
• Actively monitor vendor and internal performance against contracts, industry benchmarks, and previous baselines. Develop and submit reports to Executive management
• Identify and evaluate market changes - make appropriate fact-base recommendations
• Oversee roll-out of new vendor contracts and processes.

• Implement purchasing strategies with the objective of lower costs and JIT deliveries.
• Develop supplier relationships in support of such activities, using supplier selection criteria and performance/quality evaluation techniques.
• Assure delivery of materials at expected costs and quality levels, including purchase orders, blanked orders, and long-term agreements.
• Establish and manage systems for stores and inventory control.
• Assure compliance to ISO and QS requirements.

EDUCATION• College Degree Type: BS or related experience

• Minimum: 3 years of experience in high volume manufacturing Purchasing

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exits. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
