Purchasing Manager manages procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Manager collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Implements processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Manager oversees auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Purchasing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Purchasing Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Housekeeping Manager:
    To assist the Director of Housekeeping to manage the Housekeeping staff to ensure guest rooms and public areas are cleaned to Rosewood standards. 

    Responsibilities:

    Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.

    Ensure that cleanliness standards are maintained at a superior level on a daily basis.

    Complete morning and evening reports and assists with assignment of room attendants and house attendants. 

    Trains new Housekeeping Supervisors and assists with the training of room attendants, house attendants and other housekeeping support staff.

    Inspect all public areas daily and guest rooms to ensure quality of standards and work.

    Work closely with Supervisors and house attendants to ensure par of linen and amenities are in linen storerooms for proper operation.

    Personally inspect  VIP and Special Attention Guest rooms to ensure the rooms meets hotel standards

    Focus on Leading Quality Assurance training and Forbes standards during training and lineups. 

    Investigates concerns regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action.

    Assist in all physical inventory of linens and supplies.

    Assist the Director of Housekeeping with making the weekly department schedule.

    Attend staff meetings with other department heads to discuss guest arrivals, guest experience and guest complaints. Make recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient housekeeping operations.

    All other duties as required.

    Qualifications:

    Experience: Minimum two years’ experience in a supervisory position with a housekeeping department for a luxury or ultra-luxury hotel.

    Education: High school diploma.

    Schedule: Ability to work morning, evening, weekday and weekend shifts. Holidays as needed. 

    General Skills: Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.

    Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret business records and statistical reports; basic mathematical skills; ability to analyze the interpret established policies; ability to understand the government regulations covering business operation; ability to make business decisions based on productions reports and similar facts as well as on your own experience and personal opinions; ability to see differences in widths and lengths of lines such as those on graphs; ability to deal with the general public, customers, employees, union and government officials with tact and courtesy; ability to plan and organize the work of others; ability to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions; ability to speak and write clearly; ability to accept full responsibility for managing an activity.

    Language: Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred.
    Spanish is also preferred but not required. 

    Physical Requirements: Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting  up to 35 pounds, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.

    Salary Range:
    $64,000 - $68,000 Annually
    This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
