Purchasing Manager manages procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Manager collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Implements processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Manager oversees auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Purchasing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Purchasing Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Direct Hire Opportunity with a Salary Range of $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 depending on experience
Responsibilities:
- Review, negotiate, and qualify vendor terms and agreements
- Source suppliers and quote contract requirements and specifications
- Create purchase orders using MTS and MPS
- Assist Marketing and Sales departments with current market pricing and estimates
- Keep record of delivery dates, ETAs
- Communicate with vendors regarding timely delivery and expediting requests
Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience with electronics supply chain and procurement
- Experience in vendor management and purchasing of electronics equipment, PCBs, and mechanical parts for commercial, industrial, and military applications
- Negotiation skills and knowledge of APIC inventory management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication via email, phone, and collaboration within the team
