Purchasing Director manages procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Director collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Implements processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Director oversees auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Purchasing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Purchasing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     HighRes Biosolutions is seeking an experienced results driven Purchasing Manager to oversee our company’s procurement activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement and purchasing processes of our manufacturing operations, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality materials while optimizing costs and maintaining strong supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement procurement strategies for cost optimization and enhancing supply chain efficiency
    • Develop and manage our purchasing policies, procedures, and standards to ensure process transparency, fairness, impartiality, and confidentiality
    • Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to ethical and sustainability standard
    • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing, payment terms and mutually beneficial agreements
    • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, including ongoing performance evaluations, issue resolution and continue fostering long-term partnership
    • Implement sustainable and socially responsible strategic sourcing practices, including supporting local suppliers and promoting ethical sourcing
    • Stay updated on regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to sourcing activities
    • Lead, train, mentor, guide, and coach Buyers to achieve operational initiatives that optimize team efforts and develop personal growth
    • Monitor inventory levels, analyze demand patterns and implement inventory management strategies to manage stock levels and avoid shortages or excesses
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Planning, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance and Project Management to understand material requirements and ensure alignment with production schedules
    • Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and implement improvement plans as needed to drive continuous improvement and maintain high standards of quality and delivery
    • Monitor and track procurement metrics, such as on time delivery, cost savings, supplier performance and inventory levels and provide monthly updates to management

    Qualifications


    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a related field
    • 5 years of experience in manufacturing procurement with a proven track record of managing supplier relationships and optimizing procurement processes
    • Excellent communication, analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams and external stakeholders
    • Must possess the ability to multi-task and react quickly and professionally in high stress situations
    • Ability to analyze data, identify trends and make data-driven decisions to improve procurement performance and drive cost savings
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to procurement and manufacturing processes
    • Expertise in Microsoft Office applications including Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and MRP/ERP systems. Experience with Microsoft D365 ERP a plus. ISO9001 experience is also a plus
