Purchasing Director manages procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Position Summary:
This individual will be responsible for the oversight of all aspects of purchasing, forecasting sales, inventory in the distribution center as well as forecasting sales to our 3rd Party Distributor.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and mentor a team of purchasing professionals in a fast-paced environment.
2. Execute purchases based on a data driven strategy in accordance with Supply Chain Key Performance Indicators (inventory turns, weeks on-hand, on-time delivery) Troubleshoot and solve delivery issues including inventory discrepancies, and vendor related queries.
3. Report to leadership the measurable status of progress and corrective actions as it pertains to supplier and inventory performance.
4. Managing fill-rate, aged inventory and expiry report for all buyer groups.
5. Partner with the category management team for implementation of strategic objects.
6. Analyze reports and records related to buying and inventory activities
7. Identify, document and execute continuous process and systemic improvements as it relates to purchasing of WDC Inventory
8. Strong working knowledge of Supply Chain Management processes and best practices (material planning, Logistics, Demand planning, S&OP process, fulfillment, KPIs and Continuous improvement)
9. Serve as the subject matter expert for planning and replenishment functions for the companys purchasing/MRP system
10. Review and manage the scheduling of all inbound POs

Minimum Education:
Associates Degree in Business Administration
