Purchasing Director manages procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Director collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Implements processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Director oversees auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Purchasing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Purchasing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.   • Job Summary:
    The primary function of the Purchasing Agent is to work closely with the Senior Purchaser & Production Scheduler, the Production & Quality Supervisor, the Operations Manager and production staff to ensure the timely procurement of materials and services to meet the day-to-day production needs of the company at the most cost-efficient price while minimizing inventory and preventing stock outs.

    Responsibilities of the Purchasing Agent includes:

    • The Senior Buyer & Production Scheduler will provide the Purchasing Agent with daily work orders, each containing a full bill of materials listing out specific requirements including type and quantity.
    • The Purchasing Agent will order the requested materials, ensuring the most cost-effective acquisition of the material while meeting the delivery/production/installation timeline requirements.
    • The Purchasing Agent will specify the delivery date on the Purchase Order and email to the Vendor.
    • At the time of placing the order, the Purchasing Agent will verify the Vendor can fulfill the entire order. If the Vendor reports there is a delay or back-order for any of the required items, the Purchasing Agent will note it on the PO and Immediately notify the Senior Purchaser & Production Scheduler and the Operations Manager via email.
    • The Purchasing Agent is required to update item pricing in the KeyedIn System so that material costs are current and reflected in real time new job estimates. The item pricing update is required to occur at the time materials are being purchased.
    • All items purchased, either On-Line, Phone, or E-mail must be processed through KeyedIn Software with a PO.
    • Process and track Materials Requisitions for tools, with written approval by the Operations Manager.
    • Notify the Senior Buyer & Production Scheduler on all inventory and procurement issues including overdue delivery status, back orders, supplier problems, in-house storage limitations, and material usage issues.
    • Maintain adequate inventory levels of stock, setting and adjusting max/min levels to minimize raw material inventory and product stock- outs and set up and maintain the company wide Kanban process.
    • Maintain accurate control on all paperwork used in ordering, shipping, and the return of Inventory for credit, making sure all purchasing documentation is received by accounting within 24 hours.
    • Work with the Accounting Department as needed to maintain accurate information in a timely fashion.
    • Assists with yearly physical inventories.
    • Provide responsive communication to internal customers and venders.
    • Maintains KeyedIn as required for all purchasing functions.

    Qualifications:
    - College degree or 5 years' experience
    - Good Computer skills in MS-Office
    - Negotiation and communication skills
    - Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
