Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Agent to join our team. The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services, and maintaining accurate inventory records. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a solid understanding of supply chain management.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to meet company objectives
- Identify potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish favorable terms and conditions
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine purchasing needs and requirements
- Conduct market research to identify new products and suppliers, and evaluate their quality, pricing, and delivery capabilities
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained
- Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to generate purchase orders and track order status
- Manage relationships with existing suppliers, resolve any issues or disputes that may arise
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all purchasing activities
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels
- Continuously evaluate supplier performance to drive cost savings and improve overall supply chain efficiency
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar procurement role
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices
- Proficient in using procurement software systems, and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word)
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong supplier relationships
- Solid understanding of logistics, inventory control, and contract management
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
