Purchasing Clerk, Sr initiates, prepares, processes, and verifies purchase orders following established guidelines to purchase materials and goods by required delivery dates. Inputs transactions and administers a purchasing and contracts system or database. Being a Purchasing Clerk, Sr interacts with suppliers to obtain favorable pricing terms, product specifications, monitor availability, and optimize savings. Expedites delayed orders and resolves issues with changes, returns, replacements, and credit arrangements. Additionally, Purchasing Clerk, Sr coordinates with internal teams to ensure that procurement needs are met promptly and efficiently. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or team leader. The Purchasing Clerk, Sr works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. YOUR ROLE
- Work with vendors in the purchasing of parts, supplies, and all other material ordered through the parts room.
- Enter orders into the parts inventory program (SAP) and to update purchase orders within the program.
- Research Parts to ensure multiple sourcing options and drive down costs.
- Assist on-boarding new vendors and moving vendors into preferred vendor status.
- Locate and check parts out to SAP work orders for reliability team as needed.
- Run reports for metrics and audit parts room inventories.
- Train associates on the various procedures for counting inventory, using SAP, etc.
YOUR SKILLS
- Computer experience (Microsoft Platform), including word processing and spreadsheets.
- Strong SAP skills preferred.
- Experience in stockroom or inventory management preferred, but not required.
- Mechanical/Electrical experience preferred, but not mandatory.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
The salary for this role is $21 - $28. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
