• Position is Non-Exempt, Full Time (40 hours/week), 12 months; temp to hire
• Pay Rate: Commensurate with related-experience and qualifications up to $20.00/hour

Position Overview: The Purchasing Clerk initiates, prepares, processes, and verifies purchase orders following guidelines to purchase materials and goods, by required delivery dates. Work with vendors to negotiate prices, terms, and conditions of sale. Track inventory levels, placing orders, and ensuring all goods that are purchased items arrive in good condition. In addition, deliver meals, pick-up and deliver mails to the Hayward locations.
A purchasing clerk typically has a wide range of responsibilities, which can include, but are not limited to the following:
• Reconciling invoices to ensure that all charges are correct and approved.
• Communicating with suppliers about price changes, product availability, and shipping schedules
• Reviewing purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy, then processing them through the accounting system
• Reviewing inventory records to forecast needs for ordering new merchandise or replenishing existing stock.
• Work with the Delivery Team for delivery and pick-up of supplies (meals, mails, etc.) to and from sites in a timely manner
• All other duties as assigned and required.
Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements
• High school graduate, some college preferred.
• Must have a clean driving record (DMV print-out required).
Experience:
• Two years relevant work experience
• Computer skills, familiarity with MS Word/Windows and online ordering
• Excellent organizational skills
• Bi-lingual skills desirable
• Experience with ethnic and cultural diversity
Physical Demands:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel crouch, or crawl; talk or hear, and taste or smell.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds frequently, and/or up to 50 pounds occasionally.
