Purchasing Clerk initiates, prepares, processes, and verifies purchase orders following established guidelines to purchase materials and goods by required delivery dates. Inputs transactions and administers a purchasing and contracts system or database. Being a Purchasing Clerk interacts with suppliers to obtain favorable pricing terms, product specifications, monitor availability, and optimize savings. Expedites delayed orders and resolves issues with changes, returns, replacements, and credit arrangements. Additionally, Purchasing Clerk coordinates with internal teams to ensure that procurement needs are met promptly and efficiently. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or team leader. The Purchasing Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Records Clerk types correspondence, memos, and such documents as may be assigned, transcribes tapes, makes copies, and operates computer, telephone, and fax machine. The Secretary also maintains an appointment book, answers, screens, and routes incoming calls, makes calls for the Detective Division, and submits reports, files, and other documents to detectives in support of the office and other authorities as directed. The Secretary also performs related responsibilities as required or assigned.
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: High school diploma or GED plus specialized training and/or additional college courses and 12-18 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. THIS SHIFT IS 1:00 P.M. TO 10:00 P.M. CLOSING DATE: 3/27/24
