Position Overview:

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our dynamic team. As a Purchasing Agent, you will play a pivotal role in the procurement process, ensuring that all materials and supplies necessary for our residential construction projects are acquired efficiently, cost-effectively, and in accordance with our high-quality standards. You will collaborate closely with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to maintain seamless operations and uphold our commitment to excellence in craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procurement Management: Manage the end-to-end procurement process for construction materials, equipment, and supplies, from sourcing and vendor selection to purchase order issuance and delivery coordination.
• Vendor Relations: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, pricing, and contracts to optimize cost savings and quality assurance.
• Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels, track usage, and forecast future needs to prevent stockouts, minimize excess inventory, and ensure timely availability of materials for ongoing construction projects.
• Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis and comparison of various suppliers and products to identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality or project timelines.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards throughout the procurement process, maintaining accurate documentation and records.
• Collaboration: Collaborate cross-functionally with construction teams, project managers, and other internal stakeholders to align purchasing activities with project timelines, budgets, and quality requirements.
• Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency optimization within the procurement function, implementing best practices and innovative solutions to drive operational excellence.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar procurement role within the construction or homebuilding industry.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in cost analysis and vendor evaluation.
• Familiarity with procurement software and inventory management systems.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management abilities.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across teams and communicate with stakeholders at all levels.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
