Purchasing Associate

Description
Responsible for managing and insuring accuracy of open purchase orders from conception to receipt including timeliness and quality; reporting out on expedite requests; help manage requests and issues from internal customers as well as the procurement team.
Key Responsibilities
· Reviews and mitigates material shortages to prevent production issue related to supply.
· Work with vendors to maintain open purchase order receipt dates, quantity and cost accuracy.
· Review inventory on high velocity items and work will vendors to reduce internal inventory while maintaining availability.
· Manage expedite requests with vendors and production to provide best case scenario and accurate feedback.
· Provide full support receiving issues and providing corrective actions to vendors to mitigate future issues.
· Work with quality on vendor quality issues and corrective actions as well as process returns.
· Manage outside production partners material availability, insuring on-time delivery.
· Managing the integrity/accuracy of purchasing and production related data.
· Help drive and organize procurement related projects
· Cross-functional liaison for procurement.

· A developed understanding of supply chain in terms of process.
· Experience in vendor relations
· Drives projects to completion or resolution
· Ability to quickly understand ERP or like system
· Efficient, proven organizational and project management skills.
· Demonstrates ability to quickly prioritize projects and day to day tasks.
· Strong interpersonal/written communication skills.
· Team player able to work well across business operations and develop strong business teams.
· Ability to mine data using Excel ad hoc reporting and SQL
Education and Experience
· Three ( ) years of relevant education or experience in planning, purchasing, logistics, or a related field (required).
· Experience using ERP/MRP system
· Experience in a high paced manufacturing environment (preferred) and supplier negotiations
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
Computer Skills
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Alphanumeric data entry.
