Punch Press Operator jobs in Massachusetts
Punch Press Operator configures and operates electrically powered presses to cut, shape, and form metal, plastic, or other materials used in manufacturing operations. Performs operations such as blanking, bending, punching, and forming based on blueprints and other instructions. Being a Punch Press Operator responsibilities include configuring equipment and calibrating gauge settings, recognizing condition of dies, loading materials onto the equipment, feeding material through die, and positioning and removing parts from the die. Keeps a record of operational data and performs routine equipment maintenance. Additionally, Punch Press Operator monitors work schedule to ascertain production information, such as size, type, and quantity to be processed. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Punch Press Operator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Local specialized metal manufacturer is currently accepting applications for their Machine Operator role! Machine setup and operation experience required. Experience with Sheet Metal also a plus. This job is hiring immediately, qualified candidates may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen &/or background check.
Machine Operator Schedule: 1st (M-Th, 6a-4:30p) 10 hour shifts
Individuals will be responsible for a variety of duties including:
- Work from factory orders and special customer requirements to evaluate and meet specifications of metal products.
- Set up and run punch press machine and visually examine and inspect products as specifications suggest.
- Detect and report any unusual conditions, defective materials or other malfunctions
- Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and proper condition. Observe safety regulations
- Ability & willingness to cross-train on other machines throughout the plant
Machine Operator Benefits:
