Public Transportation Inspector inspects and compiles information concerning activities and conduct of employees on public railroads, streetcars, and buses and submits written reports of findings. May require an associate's degree with at least 4 years of experience in the field. Being a Public Transportation Inspector is familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.   • A. Morton Thomas & Associates, Inc. (AMT, Inc.) is hiring Transportation Construction Inspectors to support a variety of construction and maintenance tasks throughout the Northern Virginia region of Locally Administered Projects.

     

    Interested applicants must possess a valid driver’s license, be available to work at night, OT and/or weekends as needed, capable of working independently and within a team, and subject to background check. Candidates must be able to perform field inspection duties and maintain project records including compiling daily field reports, maintaining the project materials notebook, and generating monthly estimates.

    Responsibilites
    • Verification of all work performed being in accordance with plans & contractual specs
    • Measurement & verification of pay quantities, dimensions & specifications
    • Act as a liaison between LAP program administrators and prime contractor


    Qualifications
    • 3 years of transportation construction experience, ideally within the State of Virginia.
    • Candidates are preferred to have all VDOT certifications. 
    • Candidates holding partial VDOT certifications will be considered depending on previous project experience
