Middle School Class Teacher
Northeast Woodland Charter School is seeking a full time Middle School Teacher beginning summer 2024.
General Statement of Responsibilities:
Our school is seeking two dynamic candidates, who are interested in working as part of a collaborative team of middle school class teachers working with 5th through 8th grade students. Northeast Woodland utilizes a block sharing model in the Middle School years, with teachers specializing in Math and Science, or English and Social Studies. Due to class expansion we are hiring two additional middle school grades teachers. We will hire both a math/science specialist and a language arts/social studies specialist.
The middle school class teacher’s primary responsibility is to deliver the curriculum in an imaginative and meaningful way to students each day. They ensure student learning and growth through the use of formative and summative assessments and based on their observations, adjust their teaching to provide additional resources as needed. Essential to this role is working with parents to establish respectful communication and providing parent education. Class teachers will also serve the school through committee work and other administrative responsibilities as well as through close collegial work with the faculty.
Nature of this position: Northeast Woodland Public Chartered School is the first Public Waldorf charter school in the Northeast offering Pre-K-8. We opened our doors in Fall of 2020.
