May participate in implementing special programs for students. May supervise teaching assistants. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require specific state-level teaching license. Typically requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically reports to a principal. The Public School Teacher occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. SUMMARY OF POSITION, FUNCTION, AND DUTIES
Under the High School Principal’s direction, the High School English Teacher is assigned to fulfill the mission of honoring the Lord Jesus Christ which is to equip students with a love for Christ, a passion to learn, the courage to lead, and a commitment to serve. Sarasota Christian School is seeking a dynamic, talented, and experienced English teacher to join our team as a full-time faculty member in the High School. This position is responsible for teaching sections of American
Literature and World Literature. SCS requires strong teaching skills, a deep understanding of high school students, knowledge of best practices in pedagogy, flexibility, and the ability to collaborate closely with members of the department, administration, colleagues, and parents. SCS teachers are committed to teaching students through a Christian lens. The school administration may assign additional duties or specify other functions needed as may be appropriate for specific faculty posts.
