- In addition to the K-5 Classroom Teacher positions currently posted as of 4/5/24, it is possible that one or more elementary teaching vacancies will open as the result of internally hired district positions in the coming weeks. In anticipation of this need, this general posting is being created to represent those vacancies. Candidates who apply to this vacancy may be considered for K-5 teaching positions at buildings that are to be determined for the 24/25 school year.
Position Description:
Candidates selected to fill the role of Elementary Teacher for Wayzata Public Schools will be given the great responsibility of continuing our long-standing commitment to academic excellence. This will be done through the design and delivery of instruction that ensures the success of a diverse population of learners. In addition, you will be responsible for building positive relationships and working collaboratively with students, parents, and staff members to foster a positive experience for the entire learning community.
Qualifications:
- Must have a valid MN teaching license.
- Ideal candidate will have previous elementary level teaching experience.
- Ideal candidate will be learner-driven, and have a deep knowledge of core areas such as Language Arts, Math, and early literacy.
- Experience with 21st century pedagogy to amplify student voice is a plus.
- Ideal candidates should also have experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated strategies that support diverse learners.
- Must have strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Must have the ability to build positive working relationships with students, parents and staff.
- Must have the ability to calmly and effectively deal with a variety of unexpected circumstances.
- Must be proficient with current technology used to support communication, academics, and student progress monitoring.
- Must be able to produce, analyze and respond to relevant data about student learning.
