Public School Teacher prepares lesson plans and instructs students in an assigned school. Develops and implements grade appropriate course work, activities, and assessments to meet the academic needs of children in a K-12 classroom setting. Being a Public School Teacher evaluates and monitors student's performance. Assesses and documents students' progress. Additionally, Public School Teacher participates in development and implementation of Individual Education Plans for specific students. Resolves classroom issues and conflicts. May participate in implementing special programs for students. May supervise teaching assistants. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require specific state-level teaching license. Typically requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically reports to a principal. The Public School Teacher occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Preferred candidates are individuals who hold a Spanish teaching credential, master’s degree in Spanish language or education; and five or more years of teaching experience, preferably in a middle school or high school setting. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess a sincere and deep appreciation for working with children and the ability to challenge bright and creative students. In addition, candidates should have experience in differentiating in education, collaborating with colleagues, student-centered, twenty-first century education, and working in a Pre-K through 8th grade school setting.

The Pegasus School serves 595 students from pre-K through grade 8.
