Public Relations Manager develops and implements policies and procedures for the public relations department. Maintains favorable public image for employer or client by communicating programs, accomplishments, and/or points of view. Being a Public Relations Manager evaluates all forms of communications before release to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of message and authorizes release. Prepares and distributes news releases, fact sheets, scripts, etc. to media outlets. Additionally, Public Relations Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Public Relations Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Public Relations Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Marketing & Public Relations Intern

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
     Assist in planning and execution of marketing events (festivals, activations, community relations, etc.)
     Serve as official park photographer/videographer
     Manage, organize and create monthly reports on media coverage
     Work with Public Relations team on community relations efforts
     Coordinate and communicate with all park departments for weekly information and updates
     Assist with social media efforts, including content creation, captioning and scheduling
     Assist with website edits and audits throughout season, including monitoring online pricing and deadlines
     Assist with press release and media alert writing and proofreading
     Assist with signage installation throughout park
     Assist with pitching, scheduling, escorting and sending assets to media
     Enforce all park policies and procedures, and maintain Six Flags standards
     Other duties as assigned
    Skills and Qualifications:
     Advanced knowledge and skill in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign and Premiere Pro
     Strong knowledge in social media platforms with business applications, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and
    TikTok
     Ability to take initiative and manage projects from beginning to end on a deadline
     Ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced and high-energy environment
     Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
     Must be professional, self-motivated, the ability to multi-task and have an enthusiastic attitude
     Must have strong teamwork skills and the ability to work with others, while also working independently
     Ability to work a flexible schedule including some nights, weekends and holidays
     Must be at least 18 years old
     Must possess a valid driver’s license
     Must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
