Public Relations Manager develops and implements policies and procedures for the public relations department. Maintains favorable public image for employer or client by communicating programs, accomplishments, and/or points of view. Being a Public Relations Manager evaluates all forms of communications before release to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of message and authorizes release. Prepares and distributes news releases, fact sheets, scripts, etc. to media outlets. Additionally, Public Relations Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Public Relations Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. The Development and Public Relations Director plans and executes fundraising activities, records donations, and secures funds through grants and sponsorship methods. Responsible for coordinating and planning public relations and community development activities. In addition, responsibilities include crafting media releases and marketing material. Position requires strong grant writing skills and the ability to establish and maintain good, cooperative relationships with the news media, consumers, local community and other public-interest groups. Additional responsibilities include maintaining website management and social media marketing. The position calls for flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, maintaining a maximum level of confidentiality, project coordination, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management including residents, staff and board of directors of Girls’ Haven.
Education, Licensure and/or Experience
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations or related field. Preferred: One year of grant writing and fundraising experience.

Valid driver's license.
Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug test.
Must submit to and pass random drug tests during employment.
Must successfully pass all background screens as required by the state.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
