All Our Kin, a national nonprofit that trains, supports, and sustains family child care educators, seeks a Director of Marketing and Public Relations. This innovator and strategic thinker will have the passion to advance the field of family child care, the expertise to elevate our programming to diverse audiences, and the ability to write compelling copy that gets attention and results.
Through All Our Kin’s high-touch programming, family child care educators – who nurture our youngest learners from their own homes – succeed as small business owners and early childhood specialists. In turn, parents have access to high-quality, affordable child care, and infants and toddlers gain the enriching experiences that prepare them to succeed.
The Director of Marketing and Public Relations will join a high-performing, resourceful, collaborative and supportive team that is dedicated to advancing our direct-service work, advocacy goals, and overall visibility. The Director, who will join during the organization’s 25th anniversary year, will also collaborate on initiatives to propel our fundraising efforts, bring in new training and technical assistance clients, and support field-building.
What You Will Do
Overall Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Marketing team, including our Digital
Marketing Manager and Digital Media Associate
Attend monthly cross-departmental Directors Meetings to maximize opportunities and
organizational synergy
Uphold a strong brand identity for All Our Kin, both visually and with the written word
Branding:
Participate in updating our visual identity
Create and update the organization’s first-ever written style guide
With marketing team, develop plans to increase org-wide brand consistency
PR Strategy:
Develop the All Our Kin blog and leverage it to maximize SEO
Create strategies to maximize visibility for All Our Kin speaking engagements
Brainstorm opportunities to establish and market CEO/C-Suite as thought leaders
Marketing Materials:
Oversee the production of marketing materials. Devise annual audit of materials to ensure facts and figures are up-to-date, and photos, testimonials and educator stories are current.
Conceive and write the organization’s annual Impact Report
Brainstorm infographics, etc., to demonstrate our impact and the importance of family child care
Visit the programs of family childcare educators to take photos and video, and gather stories that highlight the importance of our work.
Website Direction:
Partner with the Digital Marketing Manager to ensure the All Our Kin website is an engaging, cutting-edge, user-friendly tool that serves all key audiences (educators, donors, partner organizations and more).
Develop a robust SEO strategy to improve organic search rankings and drive web traffic.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the website aligns with brand guidelines and organizational goals objectives.
Ensure we have a strong U/X for all target audiences, especially educators.
Advertising and Paid Social Media:
Develop and manage Google Ad Words and Ad Grants
Collaborate with Digital Media Associate to develop, execute and monitor paid social media campaigns across various platforms (e.g., Facebook, Linkedin)
Collaborate with Digital Media Associate to create staff guidelines for social media engagement
Analyze campaigns, conduct A/B testing, and make data-driven decisions to improve ROI
Who You Are
All Our Kin seeks individuals with a deep-seated commitment to the organization’s core values, anti-racism work and improving conditions for family child care educators. The Marketing & PR Director will work with a high-performing, highly collaborative team, and have a willingness to contribute to everything from administrative work to strategic planning. In addition, you will have:
A Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field with 5-7 years of experience, or 8-10 years of experience in marketing (including digital strategy);
Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment;
Bring top-notch writing skills to the table, with a strong command of grammar and economical writing and the ability to shift tone depending on the material/audience;
Have superior organizational and project management skills, and a track record of working effectively remotely and/or independently;
Have a keen eye for detail, both in terms of design and the written word;
Written and verbal fluency in Spanish a strong plus;
Creativity and expertise in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate;
Optimize landing pages and ad copy/creative/targeting, including experience with A/B and multivariate experiments;
Strong grasp of current marketing and analytics tools, trends, and best practices.
