Position Title: Executive Director of the Foundation for Winona Area Public Schools (This is not a position with the Winona Area Public Schools.)
The Foundation for Winona Area Public Schools is an independent, non-profit, 501(c) 3 organization established in 1991 and funded entirely by community and business supporters of education in Winona. The single purpose of the Foundation is to enrich and expand educational opportunities in Winona Area Public Schools by supporting important programs and projects that would otherwise not be available via normal district resources; www.foundationwaps.org

Assignment Specifications: Full time, flexible start date, summer 2024
Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Foundation for WAPS Board of Directors, the Executive Director provides essential support to the staff and students of the Winona Area Public Schools, the Community of Winona and Alumni. A high degree of professionalism is required as the role serves as the primary contact and administrator for community interactions, including: fundraising, public presentations, formal publications and social media. The role also requires considerable independent judgement, the willingness to take initiative, excellent and timely communication and exceptional organizational skills.
Some but not all Requirements:
· Excellent business writing skills including proof reading, editing, composing and letter/minute reports formatting skills.
· Knowledge of Microsoft suite programs, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
· Communicate with accountant, auditor and treasurers.
· Ability to effectively communicate on the telephone and through email.
· Ability to work and accomplish tasks with minimal supervision or follow up and numerous interruptions.
· Flexibility in working situations with the ability and willingness to work varying hours including evenings and weekends.
· Ability to manage multiple assignments, work rapidly and accurately under stressful conditions, and meet required deadlines.
· Good organization, efficiency, and ability to prioritize work. Strong attention to detail.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality.
· Consistently completes work assignments and meets commitments in a timely manner.
· Handle job accountabilities within policy, procedure, and in compliance to all applicable rules and regulations.
· College degree is preferred but not required.
