Psychologist - Ph.D evaluates patients for mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders. Diagnoses disorders, including nature and extent, and determines the appropriate course of treatment for the patient. Being a Psychologist - Ph.D uses talk therapy to treat patient illness or distress, cannot prescribe medication. Requires a PhD in clinical psychology. Additionally, Psychologist - Ph.D requires a valid state license to practice. Typically reports to a medical director. The Psychologist - Ph.D works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.     Our Psychologist provides competency screenings to inform the treatment of patients who have been found incompetent to stand trial. As needed, the Psychologist develops behavioral interventions and behavior plans and conducts psychological testing. The Psychologist is an active member of the treatment team, providing staff education as needed on psychological issues and working with the team to develop therapeutic interventions that address competency barriers. The Psychologist may be responsible for assigned treatment sessions and may have responsibilities for quality assurance monitoring.

    Education for Psychologist:
    • A Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical psychology from an accredited university
    Experience for Psychologist:
    • 2-5 years of experience in clinical psychology desired.
    Licenses/Certifications for Psychologist:
    • Current license as a Psychologist in the state of practice
