Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant will support physicians and other members of the health care team by gathering patient medical history, obtaining and recording vital statistics, and occasionally assisting with minor, office-based procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians in completion of exams/procedures, including rooming patients, performing lab draws, injections and completion of requisitions.
- Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight and temperature; and reporting patient history summary.

Maintain proper stock, supply and cleanliness of clinical areas including exam rooms, lab, MA area, etc.

Maintain clinical instruments as required including stock, sterilization and related logs.

Maintain sufficient stock of medical supplies and drug samples, including ordering of supplies within budgetary requirements and removal of expired samples.
- Prepare examination rooms for each patient visit by ensuring proper sanitization and supply of equipment based on the patient's needs.
- Ensure accuracy of logs and/or result records as required and appropriate.

Assist front office staff with greeting, check-in/out procedures for patients and visitors of the office.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

May be required to bend, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds as needed throughout the day.

Good vision perception sufficient to read, write and view computer screens and printouts accurately.
- Hearing adequate to hear patient, physician and staff conversations.
Education, Work Experience and Licensure:
- Education: High school diploma required; STNA or medical assisting certificate highly preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a medical assistant in a physician’s office preferred, OB/GYN experience highly preferred.
