Psychologist - M.A. evaluates patients for mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders. Diagnoses disorders, including nature and extent, and determines the appropriate course of treatment for the patient. Being a Psychologist - M.A. uses talk therapy to treat patient illness or distress, cannot prescribe medication. Requires a master's degree in clinical psychology. Additionally, Psychologist - M.A. requires a valid state license to practice. Typically reports to a medical director. The Psychologist - M.A. work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. To be a Psychologist - M.A. typically requires 7+ years of related experience. Candidates for this position should have a Ph.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology and qualify to be licensed in Indiana. Three to five years of experience is a plus. Candidates do not have to have experience in pain psychology but must be willing to learn all aspects of the field.
Mentorship will be ongoing and will last for 6 to 18 months. The position will be at Brickyard Healthcare Willow Springs Care Center and will be part of a team of dedicated clinicians including a physician, physical therapists, occupational therapists and nurses.
The specific duties include but are not limited to:
Initial patient assessment.
Individual and group psychotherapy and patient education.
Daily case conferences with the other team members are designed to create a true interdisciplinary treatment plan for each patient.
This position can lead to the clinical director position for the program.
Participation in national research projects is a part of the position.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: From $120,000.00 to $140,000.00 per year (full time, part time option also available)
